Masterclass 2026.png

In an era in which mind and body struggle to dialogue, the Somatic Competence® Yoga masterclasses are born as a living and authentic space where you can listen to and rediscover yourself
Through an experiential approach that is deeply respectful of individual times and uniqueness, these masterclasses offer the opportunity to consciously explore one's internal world, inhabit body postures with presence and rediscover a more intimate and fluid relationship with oneself and with others.
An opportunity to rediscover one's center, cultivate listening and somatic regulation, and give shape, with spontaneity and creativity, to a non-judgmental personal expression

The masterclasses are open to everyone, expert practitioners and beginners. In each meeting, in addition to the specific theme, there will always be moments of somatic focusing, writing (journaling) and sharing (always optional).

What does it really mean to listen to yourself, both in moments of movement and in moments of staticity
In this meeting we will delve into the profound dialogue between immobility and fluidity, meditation and expression, inspired by the principles of Yin and Yang.
Two Somatic Competence® Yoga teachers will lead you synergistically into the experience: Alessia will lead the first part of the practice, focused on the dynamic component, where the body moves following the rhythm of breathing, to awaken presence and vital energy, while Federica will take care of the second, more static and introspective part of the practice.
An opportunity to explore how the different qualities of the movement can coexist, support each other and give us a deeper sense of empowerment, balance and presence.

A yoga practice open to all practitioners, with moments of somatic focusing, writing (journaling) and sharing (for those who feel like it).

Hosts: Alessia Baretta and Federica Caronna

what is somatic competence® yoga?

Somatic Competence® Yoga is a trauma-informed approach to yoga that takes into account the complexity of body-mind interactions and accompanies practitioners to refine their knowledge and mastery of their body and emotions.

what does somatic competence® mean?

Somatic Competence, is a clinical construct developed by the Institute of Integrated Psychosomatics over more than 25 years of research. Refining one's somatic competence means learning to listen to the body, observe the sensations that emerge, being able to express them and modify one's internal states to gradually (re)find awareness, orientation and balance. Our intent is to help people train this skill through the practice of yoga.

what is a somatic competence® yoga practice like?

Each practice of Somatic Competence® Yoga is first and foremost the integration of a trauma-informed approach into the method and style of each Somatic Competence® Yoga Teacher. You will be able to find different styles and expressions of yoga, ranging from dynamic flow to yin, from chair yoga to yoga during pregnancy, from mudras to pranayama, from meditation to deep relaxation. What the lessons have in common is the training of somatic competence, bringing attention to one's physical sensations in the here and now, to gradually learn to regulate the state of somato-emotional activation.
