for yoga teachers
What are they?

Intimate contexts in which to talk about issues in teaching that are sometimes difficult to address openly, such as the difficulty in carrying out the lesson because of something that was said or done by a pupil, the difficulty in enforcing payment deadlines, the occurrence of problems in a collaboration with other teachers, or in managing arrangements with the tenant, the manifestation of harassing or inappropriate attitudes by pupils or colleagues.

What is the role of the SUPERVISOR?

The supervisor provides a reading of the phenomena through the logic of the Somatic Competence® model, the trauma-informed principles and other principles deriving from neuroscientific theories such as the polyvagal theory. The goal is to create a methodology for processing the most difficult experiences in the life of the yoga teacher, and to offer tools to protect oneself first and foremost .

objectives of SUPERVISION

  • Promote open and frank discussions with colleagues and supervisors on sensitive issues that arise in class with students

  • Dealing with difficult moments in the delicate profession of yoga teacher both in the classroom and outside

  • Return to specific situations, of a technical or relational nature, and observe them with extreme attention, while also offering other points of view to better understand what the crisis points were and how to overcome them

  • Develop a systematic method to delve into the details of relational dynamics and live them to the fullest in everyday life

  • Sediment the neuroscientific theoretical principles learned in class and integrate the knowledge into your personal teaching style

Individual SUPERVISIONS

For yoga teachers who do not attend Higher Education courses at the Somatic Competence® Yoga Training School, it is possible to request a personal supervision course, consisting of 1:1 sessions with a supervisor to progress in their personal and professional growth. The course is designed for yoga teachers who wish to avail themselves of professional support in managing the complex network of relationships, the practical aspects of their professional activity, and the delicate balance between friendship and detachment.
