Our Story
For over 30 years, the Institute of Integrated Psychosomatics has been working with an innovative clinical model for the care of health and well-being.
Our team consists of psychologists, psychotherapists, osteopaths, posturologists, naturopaths, and yoga teachers who collaborate synergistically, placing the person at the center of care and focusing on their holistic bio-psycho-social well-being.
Thanks to research activities, in-depth study, and the collaborative work of a multidisciplinary team, in 2018 we founded Somatic Competence® Yoga as a way to apply the Somatic Competence® model to a body-mind integration practice like yoga.
In 2019, we also founded the Somatic Competence® Yoga Training School, Italy’s first advanced training school specifically designed for yoga teachers. Through training modules, workshops, and supervision and mentoring sessions, we provide yoga teachers with a safe environment to analyze challenges faced in class, engage in discussions on complex topics related to student-teacher relationships and hosting structures, and strengthen their knowledge of somatic, relational, and neurobiological aspects of current-day trauma.
Somatic Competence® Yoga represents a theoretical-practical knowledge that originated from the clinical experience at the Institute of Integrated Psychosomatics in its work with patients, offering all participants an active journey of self-discovery through the integration of mind and body.

The lessons are promoted by the Italian Association of Psychosomatic Psychology (APS) in favor of collective well-being and dialogue between medical, psychological, and bio-natural disciplines.
The Italian Association of Psychosomatic Psychology is a non-profit organization that fosters rigorous research in the clinical field and promotes an evolving dialogue between different disciplines, such as medicine, psychology, osteopathy, yoga, and philosophy, to integrate possible points of convergence.
The primary goal is to address individuals (singles, couples, families, groups) who express a need for care on multiple levels, but the intervention also extends to schools and organizations.
Psychosomatic Psychology is based on the Somatic Competence® model, which views the body and mind as a unified whole—inseparable aspects of the manifestation of individual subjectivity and, therefore, joint stages of possible discomfort.
